Grant amount: Up to $30,000/year

Grant duration: Up to 4 years

Grant objectives

The goal of this grant is to support single mothers in overcoming the systemic and societal barriers that may be hindering their success and, by extension, success of their families.

The primary objectives of your program should align with one or more of the following goals:

  • Empower single mothers to improve their economic well-being through career advancement, education, or training.
  • Promote stability in the lives of single mothers and their families by alleviating challenges such as childcare costs, housing instability, or access to affordable necessities.
  • Helping single mothers access the support and resources they need such as mental health supports, legal assistance, or access to healthcare, etc.
  • Provide support to single mothers in vulnerable demographics, such as young mothers, women living in low-income households, and women experiencing physical or mental health challenges.

Eligibility

Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • Organization must be a registered charity.
  • Programming must take place within Canada (any province or territory)
  • Programming must fulfill the objectives of this grant . If this grant is not fit for your program, please wait for a more suitable grant opportunity.

Ineligible applicants

We will not be accepting applications from:

  • New organizations that have not been active, and executing programming, for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Note: New programs from established charities will be accepted.
  • Charities that have applied for a grant with our organization within the past 2 years.
  • Programs focusing on domestic violence. Violence against women is a very serious issue, however it is not the main focus of this grant.
  • Programs listed in the Areas we do not fund section of our Grant Criteria page.
